I have to agree …
I have to agree with checoavalos, I don’t know where you are from, but here in L.A. There is a large diversity of salseros my man. From South, Central, and North America, to El caribe. I have seen Mexicans dance salsa as good or better then anyone else. Two of the guys you see on this video are from Mexico, The Vazquez brothers. Look them up, they are responsible for promoting the L.A. Style salsa dance to a new level. Salsa is not mexican, nor cuban nor just L.A. Style, It’s unversal.

Go to …
Go to chilangolandia(DF) my men and you’ll see what I am talking about. All the big cities in the world are influenced by Salsa Music. Cuba has influenced mexico musically. Since the Mambo era. just look at the the mexican movies of the 50’s and 60’s. IT is all about mambo, Danzon, and tropical music. Go and cut your ignorance valedor.
Thank you very mucho
El chilago
if there is some one from mexico city please let poohsito78 know what kind of music we listen to. please!

To Dance for the …
To Dance for the sake of Dancing Salsa has no meaning. Now to Dance with “Sabor, Candela”, can’t be taught ones has to be born with it. Any one can be mechanical and dance like a robot, to have the correct steps and timing plus candela is very dificult.

The freedom of the style, the energy, the joy,LA style brings to the dance floor, all you la style promoters, give yourselves’ a shake!, we need more LA style, events, across Europe. Im from England, Ny style now totaly, dominates the salsa congress. Let’s get the smoiles and fun back on the dance floor!

It could be because …
It could be because the N.Y. Style is also becoming popular in L.A. And also, most of the performing artists invited are from Puerto Rico or New York, for example last year he had La Sonora Poncena. He’s also had artist like Ray Barreto, Roberto Roena all with that unique Newyorican sound. Also, a large porcentage of the attendees to the L.A. Congress ARE NOT from L.A. so maybe he’s trying to cater to them more than the locals. The first congress he had here was very L.A. style, not anymore.

Question:
Why is …
Question:
Why is it that Albert Torres is organizing the ‘LA Congress’ and why does it seem like he is turning all his events NY themed? If I want salsa in the NY spirit I’ll go to NY like I have done before. But when I am all excited to travel all the way to LA, I would at least expect the LA experience, not?! Why isn’t anyone in LA taking the initiative to do something with the scene, promote it, or at the least preserve it?! Not just the known LA style of dancing, but the spirit of it all?
