I wanted to learn …
I wanted to learn the Salsa, but im not so sure now. Is there any point in a ‘white girl’ learning to dance a dance that the natives think i’d be at anyway? Don’t stereotype! I can dance with passion and spirit just as good as any latino. People like you cause ignorance and hatered in this world. If we can’t come together over something so expressive and universal as dance (no matter how good or crap the dancer is) then we have no hope.

quick quick slow is a way to simplify the dance it doesnt really help.. i see that people who teach it like that end up making cumbia steps. u might not notice it. but we latinos do…specially when they put themselfs out there like they know what their talking about…

Quick quick slow is …
Quick quick slow is the american way of training. You don’t really want to apply 123 567 if you are going On2 based on footwork. 4 n 8 don’t need to be pauses in the middle. If you are doing extensive footwork you count them as well. I dont’ thnik they are kiling the art – just extending it. salsa is now the most popular partnerdance in the world. All of Europe is in it, Asia and even Africa. No longer a “Latino” dance, so other cultures are adding their own flavor. Afterall, salsa means mix!
